VideoEdge Overview
Introduction
VideoEdge is a video management system that enables organizations to manage and store video surveillance footage from multiple cameras. The system includes both hardware and software components, and is designed to be scalable and flexible to meet the needs of a wide range of organizations, from small businesses to large enterprises.
VideoEdge NVR Overview
VideoEdge Network Video Recorders (NVRs) are purpose-built appliances designed to manage surveillance in comprehensive environments, both on-site and remotely. They support both IP and hybrid installations and can maintain dozens of cameras per NVR. The VideoEdge system is highly flexible and can accommodate thousands of cameras by mixing and matching hundreds of VideoEdge IP or hybrid NVRs to create a cohesive victor VMS ecosystem.
Intelligent video analytics are bundled into VideoEdge NVRs and integrated with victor VMS software to greatly improve operational efficiency and decision-making data. By allocating an analytics license to a camera, the NVR immediately begins collecting behavioral metadata that can be leveraged for reporting key performance indicators and triggering real-time alarms.
In addition, VideoEdge offers smart streaming and smart search tools for both live streaming and forensic search. Smart streaming reduces hardware requirements and allows for viewing more cameras simultaneously without increasing bandwidth usage. Smart search can find specific video clips based on metadata from behaviors, analytics, and event details within a forensic region of interest.
Types of Video Edge NVRs
VideoEdge is a scalable video surveillance solution that supports third-party devices, storage, and clients through its open platform. It manages video cameras, encoders, audio and text devices, and records data to configured internal or external storage. Clients can securely access live and recorded data from VideoEdge devices through a single interface.
The VideoEdge range includes 8 Network Video Recorder (NVR) models differentiated by 5 key properties.

Network Topology
A typical network topology of an IP only VideoEdge is shown below. In addition, Hybrid VideoEdge's can have analog cameras directly connected to the BNC inputs on the rear of the NVR.

It is standard practice to segregate the Video Management System (VMS) from the camera IP subnet. Generally;
eth0 is for the VMS
eth1 is for the IP Cameras
eth2 is for External Storage / Archiving
eth3 is for Archiving / External Storage
