Welcome to Surveillance One!
Welcome to Surveillance One! We’re excited to have you as part of the team. This module is going to introduce you to our company, culture and some of the fundamental standards we hold to as a team.
Teamwork
At Surveillance One, we understand that no one person can hold all of the keys to our success and that it takes cooperation and effort from all of us to make this company and its individuals thrive. We pride ourselves in collaboration and the principle that it takes different perspectives and backgrounds to to see the whole picture. At Surveillance One, the whole is truly greater than the sum of its parts.

The Mission
We are mission-centric and heart-led. What is our mission? Well, our mission-statement says we strive to “protect people, property and critical infrastructure from sophisticated attacks”. That is the statement but to drive a little deeper, our mission is to make our world a better and safer place; to listen to the concerns of the customer and help them understand needs that they may not even be aware of. We mine data, consult, design and install systems that will make each facility a safer place to live, work or support a community.
We put the mission and objectives of our team and clients before ourselves. We take a heartfelt approach to serving others, and we know that this means our time and resources are committed to the success of others. Serving others is not swayed by title or seniority but is a purposeful attitude from within. We highly esteem each person we encounter and show honor and respect by valuing their thoughts and perspectives. Even in disagreement, we withhold comments that are not productive, and seek to identify root causes and solutions.
Excellence
We exhibit excellence in every action. All our actions begin with a thought, and we stake our claim on excellence by initiating every action with excellence in our thoughts. We vigilantly explore and pursue the best way to do everything while being realistic and fiscally responsible.
Our desire to understand our colleagues’ thoughts and perspectives fuels our humility and respect for everyone. We consider clarity of thought to be one of the greatest traits we look for in our colleagues. We think about the message we want to deliver before we speak and know what is important and what is not.
We hold ourselves to be people who are aligned in who we are, and in what we do. Our values are the core from which we think, speak and act; they are tightly woven into all we do. While we readily acknowledge mistakes, our commitment is to be whole and truthful in all actions whether in private or in public.
“When you are excellent, you become unforgettable. Doing the right thing, even when nobody knows you're doing the right thing will always bring the right thing to you.”
-Oprah Winfrey
Communication
We are clear and concise with supporting facts, and we put effort into making things simple and easy to understand. We go beyond the surface to gain a deep understanding of every issue. We always find a way to accomplish our objectives with what is available, but we are not shy about asking for help when it is needed.
We believe that great ideas can come from anywhere, regardless of title or experience. We never give up, carry each other through hard times, and recognize grit in our colleagues. We understand that building a world-changing company is a monumental task, but we love finding our passion on the journey. We celebrate milestones together, recharge, and get back to work.
“Listen with curiosity. Speak with honesty. Act with integrity. The greatest problem with communication is we don’t listen to understand. We listen to reply. When we listen with curiosity, we don’t listen with the intent to reply. We listen for what’s behind the words.”
― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart
Culture
While all of the previous information speaks to the culture we foster at Surveillance One, the root of our culture, simply put, is our heart for people:
We value our own people; who they are, where they have come from and most importantly, who they can become.
We value our customers; their wants, needs and satisfaction in the service and value we bring to them.
We value our families. At Surveillance One, we strive to achieve a work-life balance that encourages physical and mental health and a focus on family.
Leadership
At Surveillance One we all have leadership positions. While our title may not be “Manager”, “Supervisor” or “CEO” we all have leadership roles to play. We lead by example, we lead by influence and we lead by commitment. The heart behind what we do and say comes through, whether intentional or not, and that has a direct impact on our team, both up the chain and down.
“The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things.”
― Ronald Reagan
