Camera System Basic Overview

  1. What is a camera system (diagram and list components/connectivity)  @a user

  2. Differentiate differences between IP and analog

    1. IP requires different cable and explain basic networking (requires an IP, subnet, gateway), every camera has a GUI and this info is put in, don’t explain advanced networking.

    2. Analog camera requires different cabling and explain why basic networking is not needed but go through overview of different components like matrix and how that diagram of physical topology differs from IP.

  3. NVR, high level about differences of IP and analog

  4. Cabling overview, what is “CAT”, what is fiber, what is BNC or COAX

  5. Network rack and components (Rack, switches, KVM etc..)

  6. End user side of it (VMS, Call up, camera controller etc..)

American Dynamics Module

  1. Cameras (Illustra) @a user

    1. Explain the camera line, how it compares to competitors

    2. Do they offer analog and IP?

    3. GUI walkthrough

    4. License differences to competitors

    5. How to unbox and install

      1. What are the pro tips to not lose small needed parts

      2. Once unboxed how to begin install

      3. Identify and explain mounts we use the most

      4. Explain how to install using each one (high level, OTJ training will show how to install)

    1. We have a document

(only AD-centric items in this module, if value, note and put in another module, consider if non-centric AD item is a dependency to this module, if so, it is now priority before May 1st, if not, can be delayed for future prioritization)

***Only AD specific information should make it into this module, separate manufacturer agnostic training into appropriate other modules

what do our techs needs to know in book training to make OTJ training as efficient and effective as possible.  Goal of this training program is to speed the process in which our techs can provide results by themselves.

Key Questions to answer in modules

  1. What is absolutely needed to justify training cost, time, and investment before OTJ training.  Focus module on answer this question.

Priorities for May 1st

  1. Overview of camera system to know what it is and what it isn’t

  2. American Dynamics/Ilustra line, proficiency in product understanding and light level installation pro tips/expectations.

  3. Test questions: What is a multiplex camera and will you break it if you try to move each camera etc…

  4. Axis camera line overview and installations specifics

  5. Hanwa camera line overview and installations specifics

  6. Install specifics we need to know before OTJ training begins (figure out how to fit in modules)

  7. I.E. what do our techs needs to know in book training to make OTJ training as efficient and effective as possible.  Goal of this training program is to speed the process in which our techs can provide results by themselves.
