Introduction

Victor Unified Client, or Victor for short, is a video management software (VMS) solution designed for enterprise-level organizations. The software is used for monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing video footage from multiple cameras and locations.

NOTE: Recording is handled by the Video Edge software and hardware (covered in another module)

Some of the key features of Victor include advanced video analytics, high-performance playback, customizable user interfaces, and the ability to integrate with other security systems. The software is compatible with a wide range of cameras and other surveillance equipment, making it a flexible solution for organizations with diverse security needs.

Victor also offers advanced features such as facial recognition, license plate recognition, and behavior analytics to help organizations detect potential security threats and respond quickly to incidents.

This module aims to provide an overview to the basics of installing, licensing, and configuring Victor Unified Client. This training document assumes you have completed the prerequisites. Installation

To begin we will cover installing victor. When installing victor, there are four types of software packages to choose from, victor Unified Client and Server, victor Unified Client, Enterprise, and Advanced. As a victor Application Server is required for the clients to function, the first workstation setup will almost always need victor Unified Client and Server installed. Subsequent workstations can then run victor Unified Client.

Enterprise and Advanced will be covered in later modules.

Installing victor requires downloading the installer from American Dynamics website, launching the installer, choosing the victor software that is needed, configuring the SQL Server credentials, and allowing the installation process to complete.
